My sixth grade teacher at Indian Hills Elementary had a saying that stuck with me through adulthood. Mrs. Tate would say, “Boring People Get Bored.” If you think there is nothing to do in this city, exciting events to attend or interesting people to meet, you are a pretty boring person.
I grew up in Topeka believing the grass was always greener in other communities. After moving away and living in several other cities, I realized how wrong I was. Topeka is diverse with a ton of great cultural events, a thriving art scene, and young people who are constantly looking towards the future. My goal with this project is to help Topekans see the wonderful opportunities that are already here and experience the unique people, local events and great places this city has to offer.
